Antalya is highly popular due to the successful treatments carried out either on the same day or within a week. The fact that these treatments can be completed safely and effectively in such a short time puts Turkey a step ahead in dental implant treatment. To examine this in more detail: Dental implants, whether All-on-4 or All-on-6, are completed within the same timeframe (5–7 days). Single dental implants, on the other hand, are carried out on the same day.
In this blog post, we at Seçil Dental Clinic will outline a simplified version of the treatment plan we provide for our patients. Patients should understand that dental implant treatment is a personalised procedure and that everyone’s needs may differ. Whilst some patients may undergo implant treatment without requiring any additional procedures, others may need additional procedures.
Upon arrival in Antalya, the patient comes to the clinic, where the necessary information is gathered using 3D imaging and CAD/CAM technologies. The dentist then assesses the patient’s treatment needs and draws up a treatment plan. Once the patient’s consent has been obtained, they are sent to rest.
The necessary preparations for the dental surgery are made. The dentist will place the implant fixtures into the positions previously marked out. The patient is given information on post-operative care and provided with specific instructions. These instructions are vital for the implant to heal properly and be successful. In addition, patients may experience pain following the implant procedure. Painkillers are recommended to manage this pain, which should subside within the first 48 hours.
The aim is for the patient to rest following the All-on-X treatment. At the same time, a temporary dental bridge is prepared to prevent the patient from being left without teeth.
The patient returns to the clinic the following day, having had a chance to rest. The temporary dental bridge prepared for them is fitted. This procedure does not require a new operation. It is simply screwed onto the implants. Even at this stage, the patient is able to enjoy their new smile.
After this stage, the patient may return home. It takes 4–6 months for the implants placed in the bone to fuse with the bone. Over time, the surgical site will heal, bone density in the jaw will begin to increase, and the implants will be accepted by the body. This process is known as osseointegration. You will remain in contact with your dentist and patient coordinator throughout the osseointegration process. Your Turkish dentist will monitor your progress periodically via online consultations. When you have dental implants fitted in Antalya, you won’t feel left in the lurch during this process.
Six months later, the dentist will invite you back to check your implants and fit your permanent dental bridge. Upon your arrival in Antalya, you will undergo radiographic examinations. The dentist will assess the implants. If everything is in order, they will take impressions of your mouth for your dental bridge.
Your permanent zirconia dental bridge has been prepared for you. The temporary dental bridge is easily removed without the need for any surgery, and the permanent dental bridge is fitted in its place. Your bite and alignment are then carefully assessed. If you are satisfied with your teeth and have no issues with your bite, your dentist will make the final adjustments. Your zirconia restoration is polished to a shine.
During these two days, patients enjoy a break, and any issues regarding the fit of their teeth are identified.
Final assessments regarding the treatment are carried out. Once the prosthetic fixation is complete, the patient is sent home with their new smile.
The procedure and treatment duration for dental implants in Antalya are essentially as described above.
